  • Monitor deliverables across publications and platforms, identifying delays and helping colleagues resolve implementation problems.
  • Maintain records of published content and project results while respecting editorial independence.

Training for journalists

  • Coordinate remote and physical training programs for journalists, including staff development and training for early-career reporters.
  • Work with editors, trainers, and participants to develop schedules, organize activities, and follow up on assignments.

Project implementation and monitoring

  • Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, and systems for tracking project activities.
  • Monitor progress against agreed objectives, deliverables, and indicators.
  • Organize project meetings, document decisions, and follow up on responsibilities.
  • Identify risks and propose practical adjustments to keep projects on track.

Budget and spending oversight

  • Monitor project spending in coordination with the finance team.
  • Compare expenditure with approved budgets and flag discrepancies, delays, or anticipated changes.
  • Coordinate the collection of supporting documents and help ensure expenses are properly recorded and consistent with project requirements.

Donor reporting and communication

  • Prepare accurate and timely narrative reports for donors.
  • Gather contributions from editorial, training, and finance colleagues, ensuring reports present consistent information about activities, results, and expenditure.
  • Maintain reporting schedules and organized project documentation.
  • Support donor communication, funding proposals, and project planning as needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience managing projects, preferably in media, nonprofit organizations, or an international environment.
  • Strong written and spoken Vietnamese and English, including the ability to write clear reports in English.
  • Experience tracking budgets and working with spreadsheets.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience coordinating colleagues with different responsibilities.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • A commitment to independent journalism and LIV’s mission.
  • The ability to work from our Taipei Office.

Experience with donor-funded projects, journalist training, monitoring and evaluation, or grant reporting would be an advantage. Mandarin proficiency is welcome.

  • Monthly salary: $56,000 NTD per month, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: In accordance with LIV policy and applicable Taiwanese laws.
